The opening act for the evening, Carolyn Bell, brings soulful inspiration from blues and jazz legends, embracing music as a tool for healing and change. Carolyn is thrilled to be sharing the stage with Paul and her new friend Dibs for percussion. Dibs started playing the drums where they grew up, in Sydney, Australia. What started in their high school classroom took Dibs to pubs, bars, & beaches across the city. Arlene (AJ) Carson, joining Paul on stage, and adds versatility on piano, accordion, and vocals, known for her work with groups like the Jazzberries and Crimson Cadillacs. Arelene is no stranger to the Gabriola music scene and has been involved in many musical adventures over the years. Brian McMahon, an accomplished bassist with experience across Canada, brings deep rhythm and jazz roots to the group. While living in the Okanagan, he played with many greats at the Vernon Jazz Club. PLUS Mark Woodside will join with his magic touch on the guitar. Mark’s influences come from the likes of Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, and Led Zeplin.
